Between the Covers Book Club will be discussing Colm Toibin’s novel, “Brooklyn” at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, in the front of Hartley Public Library. Ellis Lacey lives with her mother and sister in a small Irish town with few opportunities in the years following World War Two. Through the sponsorship of a priest she is able to immigrate to America where she finds work and the admiration of Tony, a blond Italian from a big family. But just as Ellis begins to fall in love devastating news from home calls her back and causes her to question where home really is. For more information about the club and this month’s book call Hartley Public Library at 928-2080.
