Ernest Hemingway's "The Old Man and the Sea" starring Spencer Tracy will be shown in the back room of Hartley Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 14. Spencer Tracy stars in this 1958 award-winning film, shot in part in sun-drenched Cuban locales: "Alone in a small skiff, an aging Cuban fisherman catches a huge marlin - and must defy the sea, marauding sharks and his own flagging strength to bring his great catch home." Winner of Best Picture and Actor awards, this movie is not rated and run time is 86 minutes.
