Name the Back Room Contest

This years contest for adults: Name the Back Room!
Hartley Public Library’s Summer Contest for Adults is Back with a Twist! With the arrival of the Library’s summer reading program comes the annual adult contest. This year’s contest will challenge library patrons to think creatively and “outside the box”. The Hartley Public Library is known for the vast and varied activities that take place in their back room. You may have visited the room for the library’s monthly book club, a library planned program, monthly movie nights, community events like the Festival of Trees, the writers or poets groups, to vote, or as a member of any of the clubs and organizations that often hold their meetings in the generically named “back room”. The librarians, at the urging of several regular patrons, have decided it’s time to finally name the space that so many library patrons have come to know and love, perhaps something more literary or Hartley-centered? It is with this goal in mind that the library will host this summer’s Adult contest asking you to NAME THE BACK ROOM. To enter, stop by the library as often as you want in the next six weeks (over the course of the summer reading program), we will have entry forms available for you to write your name, phone number and idea for a new name (only one entry per name idea please). The top six entries will be chosen by the Library staff and board. Those six entrants will each win a prize. Then the community will be asked to cast their vote on those six entries. The winner will not only get to see their name used for the back room but will also win a Grand Prize. If you have any questions, stop in and talk to the librarians or call 928-2080.
