Watercolor Classes Coming to the Library in May!

In conjuction with Arts on Grand and an ALLI grant, Pat Johnson will present four classes.
Due to an Iowa Arts Learning in Libraries grant Hartley Public Library will be teaming with Spencer’s Arts on Grand organization to bring four free watercolor classes for adults 55 and older to the Hartley Public Library in May. Pat Johnson, artist and teacher, will be presenting programs on May 3, 10, 17, and 24 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday afternoons. The classes will be free to participants but pre-registration is suggested so that enough materials will be available. Pat Johnson has won many awards for her art around the United States and also has her painting “Pasque” in the permanent collection at the South Dakota State Capital. The classes will be as follows: May 3: Watercolor, Loose and Free May 10: Shapes: Negative and Positive May 17: Stamps and Stencils for Watercolor and Mixed Media May 24: Alcohol Ink: the Swirling Possibilities No prior knowledge is required and all materials will be provided. Each class can be taken by itself or as a series. For more information and to register, call the Library at 928-2080.
