Hartley Public Library’s special registration kick-off event will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday, June 11th at Neebel Park. Children aged 4 years through high school seniors are invited to come and sign up during this time. A parent or guardian must be present to sign up children and teens. Food will be served and children registered will be ready to begin the following day with the summer’s first story hour. Anyone unable to attend registration may sign up at the library any time after that. Story hours and entertainment will again be from 10:00 to 11:00 at the library this summer unless otherwise noted. Children under age 4 will be able to attend “Toddle Time” while the “big kids” are in their story hour. Kids ages 1-3 can come with their parent/babysitter to enjoy stories, songs, and crafts geared to them. No need to pre-register; just sign in and enjoy. Parents and babysitters are expected to stay with the little ones and be responsible for them during this time. Free entertainment this summer includes Keith West, Magician on Thursday, June 14 in the Elementary School Gym; the Sanford Planetarium on Thursday, June 21; Charlene Elyea, O’Brien County Naturalist on Thursday, June 28; Improv with Talen on Thursday, July 5; The Balloon Man, on Thursday, July 12; Party in the Park (water games and light lunch at Neebel Park) on Tuesday, July 17; and Treasure Village Family Theatre presenting “12 Dancing Princesses” at 2:00 p.m. at the Hartley Community Center.
