Howard Borchard, long-time resident of Hartley and local historian, will be at Hartley Public Library at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, to show photos of early Hartley and to talk about what the city of Hartley was like in the early years since it was founded in 1879. Although we’re familiar with what the city is like today, few people know what it was like in the decades of the past 138 years when Hartley boasted such things as an opera house, hospital, train depot, and the Park Hotel. Take a walk back through history by joining us at Hartley Public Library at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18, as we reminisce about our experiences and memories of the city with a heart.
